Cannabis Warrior HWJV campaign mentioned in the Express

The East Bay Express ran this piece on their blog site that, for better or worse, highlights the pros and cons of the debate happening over 19 concerning religion. Cannabis Warrior gets a small mention at the end for the How Would Jesus Vote campaign. Thanks for the mention, although the link does not got here.

Ye Gods: Jesus Dragged Into Dope Debate

Apparently, “thou shalt not bear false witness” is no longer a commandment. Today, the 1.5-million-strong Christian political group Vision to America e-blasted its followers with a No on 19 political ad, appealing for donations and threatening a stoner economic apocalypse if California voters pass the measure. Here’s their pitch:

States to forfeit billions, so you can get high

Was the person who built your car high on the job?

Was the mechanic who just fixed your plane high on the job?

Is the Anesthesiologist who is about to put “you under,” under the influence?

Proposition 19 could make that all a possibility.

On Election Day there will be an initiative on the California ballot to legalize the sale and cultivation of recreational marijuana.

As California goes, so does the rest of the country. Your state will be next. Please donate and help us stop the legalization of marijuana by following this link!

The Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 requires Federal contractors and Federal grantees to agree that they will provide drug-free workplaces as a condition of receiving a contract or grant from a Federal agency. If your state legalizes recreational marijuana, a drug-free workplace will disappear. How much money does your state stand to lose? Billions of dollars, and tens of thousands of lost jobs!

Your state will lose all of its federal funding. Consider how much the following will lose by legalizing pot:

Florida: $149,872,000,000.00
Illinois: $100,672,000,000.00
New York: $174,071,000,000.00
Pennsylvania: $121,551,000,000.00
Texas: $210,005,000,000.00

Smoking dope on the job? If recreational marijuana is legalized, employers will no longer be able to prevent employees from being high on the job. If an employer allows employees cigarette smoking breaks and/or certain areas in which cigarette smoking is allowed, they would have to allow marijuana smoking as well. Is your doctor stoned? Is your child’s teacher? You won’t know.

Driving while stoned? On average, someone is killed by a drunk driver every 45 minutes. How often will someone be killed by a stoned driver? Let’s not find out!

We need your immediate help. Will you donate to keep marijuana from coming to your community?

Thank you in advance for your support in this endeavor. Your urgent support will enable us to continue our fight against this terrible ballot measure and stop it from coming to your state next!

Sincerely, Public Safety First

P.S. Please consider donating. I hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to prevent the legalization of recreational marijuana in California, because your state could be next. We are running a campaign against well-funded opposition groups, George Soros and deep Hollywood pocketbooks so every dollar counts! Thank you.

A project of the Citizens Against the Prop 5 Deception

The Vision to America mailer links to the donate page of Public Safety First, a narcotics officers association lobby fighting the voter initiative. As Legalization Nation reported yesterday, Vision to America is spreading the same lies as the California Chamber of Commerce, and the text of Prop 19 in no way threatens workplace rules.

On the opposite side of the pews, has asked ‘How Would Jesus Vote on Prop 19’ and came up with some opposing conclusions. The Lord hath many houses, indeed.

INDEED! I think it is a fair debate….
